Day 7 6/27/08

Last day on the train. We were pretty tired and all wanted showers, but still knew how to stay positive. =] We played some intense uno games and took very long naps! We were supposed to arrive in Dallas at 3:30 but were two hours behind schedule, due to railroad work. FINALLYYY we arrived in Dallas at 5:30 and Fred and Joanne came to pick us up from the train station. We went to this great BBQ Rib place for dinner! It was so nice to have real food again. After our deliscios and filling meal, we went back to Fred and Joanne's house for showers and hanging out. =]

Day 6 6/26/08

First full day on the train. We had a lot of fun, and did alot of card playing! Some of our neighbors were not so nice, but we did meet a few great people. Its an experience we will NEVER forget. That night was interesting though. Our car, and the sleeper car behind ours were going to be disconnected and left in San Antonio until morning when we would continue our travel to Dallas. I kid you not, from 11pm to 4am our car was reconnecting and disconnecting and going backwards and forwards and all over the place in the same area. I have no idea what was going on, all i know is that it was noisy and bumpy and made it veryyyy difficult to sleep. But in a way it was entertaining.

Day 5 6/25/08

Today is train day! We all woke up early in anticipation! The adults went to Wal*Mart in the morning, while, Mari, Nicole, Sebastian, and Joaquin hung out at the house. After they got back, it was a whole lot of sitting and waiting. Eventualy, it was time to go, so Jared and Norma piled us into cars and we headed down to Union Station. Checkong in was easy and not so easy, but we worked it. When 2:30 rolled around, we boarded the train and were off. Lucky for us, we got seats next to eachother! There was this man near us, who knew absolutely everything about anything, it was amazing. And ooooh boy did he like to talk. But it was convenient at times, because he served as a tour guide. Overall, a pretty good day.

Day 4 6/24/08

Today was the drive from San Jose to LA! The drive was pretty pleasant, and we stopped at In-N-Out Burger for some lunch. We finally arrived at Grandma's house and were sitting around enjoying ourselves, getting ready for the Dodgers game, when panic struck the house. Little Joaquin, who is the master at getting into things he shouldn't, opened up Sebastian's Zyrtec bottle and we weren't positive whether, he took any or not, so Dawn called Poison Control, who said, go to the ER, just to be safe. So Dawn, Tony, Joaquin, and Grandma piled in the car and headed for the hospital. Of course all this happens 1.5 hours before the game. And, of course we arent allowed to cancel our tickets, so the rest of us, head to the hospital to pick up Tony and head to the game. After all that, we were only an hour and a half late to the game. But it was a great game! We watched the Dodgers hit a crazy homerun, and the ball landed in the bleachers right in front of us!! Then for the insane after-game traffic! Finally, we made it home, and straight to bed!

Day 3 6/23/08

Today Randy and Tony hit up the winery where Marie works, while Mari, Nikki, and Hannah did some hardcore shopping! Dawn, Sonya, and Sebastian went to Kohls and ran a few fun errands. Then later, back to Jack and Marie's house for a little more pool action! While relaxing by the pool, Sebastian discovered a snake over in the yard. After a while, Billy finally got the snake on a stick and threw it over the fence! It wasn't a small snake either. But its all good now! And tomorrow morning we leave for LA!

Day 2 6/22/08

Day two was a relaxing fun filled day! Aunt Brandy took some of the kids to the fair, while the rest of us lounged by the pool sipping on cold beverages! Also working on our tans. It was a rough day...paradise is torture. =D

Day 1 6/21/08

First Stop: Lunch in Willits at some ma and pa burger joint!

It only took 45 minutes to get our food! =[

But soooo worth it! =]

Second Stop: Parducci Winery.

Third Stop: As we drove along, Dawn and Sonya noticed a piece of the trailor bouncing along the road, so they pulled up next to the boys and got them pulled over. Right when they were about to stop, the piece fell off and rolled back to the middle of the highway. So then the ladies immediately pulled off the road and Dawn ran into four lanes of an insanely busy highway to grab the part. What a rushh!
